Your Service Centre Gatwick produces a Rising Star

Your Service Centre Gatwick, in partnership with Skybreak is thrilled to announce Kimberley Steer has been selected as an Apprentice Rising Star, in partnership with Virgin Holidays. Three Rising Stars have been selected by Travel Weekly and Kimberley has featured in this week’s magazine, along with the other winners from Flight Centre & Thomas Cook.

When asking Kimberley about her apprenticeship she said:

From as far as I can remember, so from a very young age I have always wanted to be a part of the travel and tourism industry. I completed my Level 2 travel and tourism in college and have always had a massive interest and a huge passion for travel. Even though I learnt a lot in college there is nothing like being on the front line and taking on different challenges to help people every day.  What I like about being an apprentice the most is that in college you are just stuck in a classroom and don't see what really happens within an airport/work place and how to deal with different situations, every day is different here at Gatwick and you learn something new every day.

Your Service Centre Gatwick’s team of six apprentices, led by a mentor, are responsible for delivering five star customer service to passengers passing through Gatwick Airport. Ensuring they are readily available, the team communicate with passengers, over the telephone or via email acting as the front face of the business, effectively communicating between our customer service agents and the passenger during periods of high traffic.

As well as featuring regularly in Travel Weekly over the next 12 months, Kimberley has won 2x flights courtesy of Virgin Holidays, tickets to major travel industry events and regular mentoring and advice from industry experts. The first event Kimberley will attend will be the Association of Touring and Adventure Supplier conference in Birmingham on the 18th October, with an article on her experience at the conference in a November edition of Travel Weekly.
